The New England Patriots gave us plenty of joy with their AFC win, followed by the Superbowl championship. How did they do it? Most people seemed to think they were the underdogs. But they proved differently, just like they have always done, year in, year out.
Underdogs Prove to Be Overachievers
Of course, the Patriots won the Superbowl, and a few days later were celebrating with a parade held in their honor throughout the streets of Boston. Have you ever wondered how the New England Patriots win year in, year out?
Recently, Steve Labbe, owner of Paradigm Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning commented, “A lot of people were thinking the Patriots were the underdogs going into the last few games of the season. But the teams they were playing in the post-season were not better than the Patriots. Bill Belichick’s ability was greater. And the AFC championship win was what made the team.”
Chris Ryan, WKXL talk show host has noted, “Belichick is known to work hard reviewing the game films… looking at everything. He took Matt Patricia’s game plan for playing the Rams and applied it in the Superbowl.”
Hard Work, the Secret Ingredient
One of the Patriots’ strengths is being able to cover every facet of the game, including having all the necessary personnel. This trait is effective in business as well. For example, when an employee leaves a company, people often wonder how that loss will impact the business. Steve Labbe shared, “When this happens in our business, I find that our employees step up and fill the gap. This is where leadership is discovered. Even our colleagues outside of our business notice this. We have had some express their interest in how they can capture the same magic we experience here at Paradigm.”
It is obvious that the Patriots – Coach Belichick, owner Robert Kraft, and their staff – are exceptional at switching players in and out of different roles to cover all requirements for the team roster. Steve added, “9 times to the Superbowl, and 6 championships. Amazing. The secret formula is work hard. It’s about the culture, and the willingness to work harder than anybody else.”
“Just like for the Patriots, by working harder and building confidence, the members of our staff are actually ‘feeling the joy’ of helping our customers achieve their own next great success in plumbing, heating and air conditioning solutions.”
